On May 3, at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, we are launching the Baku Marathon!
The Baku Marathon aims to support the development of sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Held for the ninth time under the slogan “Win the Wind”, the Baku Marathon will, for the first time this year, be organized over a 42-kilometer distance. The race will start at State Flag Square and finish at Sea Breeze.
The 42-kilometer Baku Marathon will follow this route: State Flag Square → Baku Boulevard → Baku International Sea Port → Neftchilar Avenue → Baku White City Boulevard → 8 November Avenue → Yusif Safarov Street → Sevgi Park → Heydar Aliyev Avenue → BAKU Arena → Great Silk Road Street → Muzaffar Narimanov Street → Ziya Bunyadov Avenue → Boyukshor Street → Boyukshor Bridge → Balakhani Roundabout → Boyukshor–Pirshagi Road → Baku Ring Road (Bilgah–Pirshagi Highway) → Sea Breeze.
The participation fee for individuals is 20 AZN.
Corporate participants (minimum 10 participants per company) must pay 100 AZN per participant.
Students do not have to pay, as their participation fee is covered by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Foreign participants are required to pay a registration fee of 100 AZN.
Note: For individuals holding a Permit for Temporary Residence in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the registration fee is 20 AZN.
Such individuals can register by indicating their citizenship and entering the serial number of their permit in the “ID/Serial Number” section.
The award ceremony of “Baku Marathon 2026” will be held in two categories. Male and female participants will compete for the top three places on the race course.
In each category, the winners will be awarded as follows: 1st place: 6,000 AZN, 2nd place: 4,000 AZN, 3rd place: 2,000 AZN. Winners will also receive gifts, as well as medals and certificates.
In addition, all participants who complete the 42 km distance, as well as the first 2,000 participants who complete only the 21 km distance, will be awarded a medal, while participants who complete the 10 km distance will receive a certificate.
As every year, special awards will be presented in the following categories for men and women: the first student to cross the finish line (sponsored by “GəncOl” Azercell); the oldest participant to cross the finish line first; the first corporate participant to cross the finish line.
